Examscreen: smart, professional and accessible exam rooms
Examscreen is where it all began! It is the original, multi award-winning display screen for exam rooms that is currently being used in over 1,500 UK & international schools and universities. John designed it to help him with his day job as a full-time exams officer in a secondary school, and it has grown organically from there. We knew that there really needed to be a clearer and more efficient way of displaying exam information, so John created Examscreen in 2018 and it was soon being used across the UK and internationally.
One of the things we’re proudest about at Examscreen is the huge geographical spread of where our app is used. Our aim is to try and standardise the exam environment, so it doesn’t matter where you are from, your experience of sitting exams will not be hindered by your environment. This is not a tool for South or North, for cities or rural areas, for independent or state schools. Examscreen is also currently used in international schools in over 20 countries worldwide and features a tailored version for IB schools. It is a tool for everyone, everywhere – we strongly believe that all students should have fairness embedded in their exam experience.
As we developed Examscreen, we prioritised reliability, usability and clarity so that schools can ensure that students have a consistent and familiar experience at a time of great pressure and anxiety. For school staff, Examscreen ensures that exam set up and display is always smart and professional for staff and students alike and makes exam days run calmly. For organisations running exams, an annual subscription is just £45 for unlimited usage. Examscreen will continue to be very low cost so that it is accessible to all organisations, and students from all backgrounds.

All exams! Examscreen includes a large database of exams from all major awarding bodies – you can then tailor this to your schools’ specific needs. It also gives you the option to upload your own internal exams, such as mocks or end of year exams
Examscreen was built to ensure that stress in the exam room is reduced rather than increased. Not only is it incredibly user friendly for invigilators, it actually helps them to save time on set up meaning that they can focus more of their attention on what really matters – the students. We have also provided a free and very popular training course for invigilators on how to use Examscreen.
A survey of students found that 94% of students thought that Examscreen was an improvement on the set up they had previously had in their exam room.
